Karl Poulsen joined Hiscox, a global specialist Insurer, as Group Chief Procurement Officer in September 2021, to lead a significant transformation of how the company buys its goods and services across its global footprint. Partnering with business leadership, Karl is driving the development and deployment of processes, tools, systems and organisational competence to manage change within its supply chain. Procurement in Hiscox enables growth through supplier quality and innovation, drives breakthrough impact on the bottom line through cost and service improvement, and supports the sustainability agenda via responsible sourcing and ensuring supply chain compliance in a heavily regulated industry. Prior to joining Hiscox, Karl held several roles in procurement and supplier management at Halifax General Insurance and Lloyds Banking Group, before leaving to take up the role as Chief Procurement Officer at the Insurer, LV=. Overall, Karl has 20 years of global experience in procurement and supply chain management, primarily in Financial Services. He is currently based in Yorkshire.
