Description

Thomas Germer is Director Central Procurement at Munich-based ADAC, Europe’s largest Automotive Association with over 21 million members and service offerings from roadside assistance, airlines, and helicopters to insurances, credit cards, call centers and many more. In 2021, Thomas joined ADAC with the mission to transform procurement from a more operational setup into the role of a strategic value contributor to further enhance growth and prosperity of ADAC. Thomas has over 23 years of experience in procurement and transformation from different positions in management, consulting, research and as an entrepreneur. Before joining ADAC, he was Group CPO at ERGO – the primary insurance branch of Munich Re – and CPO of AXA in Germany. Thomas studied business administration at the University of Giessen and holds a PhD in business administration from renowned WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management. In 2006, he was awarded the National Research Award for his dissertation on online reverse auctions in strategic procurement.
